73rd National Square Dance Convention® Facilities

HOTELS: The Hilton Milwaukee City Center and the Hyatt Regency are the hotels for our dancers and callers/cuers. The Hilton Milwaukee City Center provides parking for our convention registered guests at $5.00 per day with in & out privileges. There is a 7’ height restriction for the Hilton Milwaukee City Center and Hyatt Regency garages.

***Just a note to all dancers, Milwaukee holds the World’s Largest Music Festival, Summerfest, on the weekend of our convention. During Summerfest, hotels are extremely expensive all-around Milwaukee and surrounding areas. Book your hotel through the convention to get our guaranteed rate of $169 per night plus taxes.

The Hyatt Regency Hotel does not own their parking and we cannot get a set price as of this time. Currently (August 2023), the rates run about $25.00 per day with no in & out privileges.

CONVENTION CENTER: We will use the new Baird Center (formerly Wisconsin Center) for the 73rd National Square Dance Convention®. The Baird Center, as of this writing, is undergoing a major expansion and total update of all the facilities, with completion in May of 2024! There will be a new 400 space parking garage within the convention center. At a future date, information will be provided on their parking rates.

REGISTRATION PACKET PICK UP LOCATION: Dancer Registration Packet pick-up
& Tours signup will be located on the first floor of the Baird
Center, in the lobby across from the S102 dance rooms. (See Baird Center
layout attached.)

DANCE HALLS: Our dance halls include Rounds phase II, III, IV, V, VI. We will have a Contra Hall, SSD Hall, Mainstream, Plus, Advance and Challenge halls.

CONVENTION ACTIVITIES: All dancing, Education rooms, Vendors & Showcase of Ideas are in the Baird Center. The Live Band, Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Fashion Show, Wednesday Special Event and Wednesday Trail End Dance will be on the 3rd floor of the Baird Center in Exhibit Hall A.

Other Convention events include: The GSI Callers School, located in the Hyatt Regency, the Bid Session, Keynote Speaker and the Siegmann Sunday Morning Concert will be in the Hilton’s Crystal Ballroom on the 5th floor. Some additional group meetings will be in the Hilton. (See program book for further information.)

GETTING AROUND: Both of our hotels are connected to the Baird Center by enclosed, climate controlled, skywalks. Our facilities are within easy walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. Public transit can take you almost anywhere around the Milwaukee area for a low fee.

PARKING: There are several parking garages in the convention area with limited height access of 7’. As far as outside lots, we will have updated information closer to our convention time. Milwaukee is undergoing a huge surge in growth in the convention center area and open parking lot availability changes regularly.
