Education Sessions

Education Sessions are a valuable part of a National Square Dance Convention! This is your opportunity to gather knowledge and ideas about a range of topics of value to dancers, club and organization leaders, and dance leaders. Plan on carving out a little time between dance sessions to rest your feet and learn!

Potential topics for panels and seminars include:

What to Do at the 73rd National Square Dance Convention!
A Toolkit for Club Leaders: Resources from USDA
ARTS: An Agent of Change
Camping and Dancing: S’mores than Dance
Dancer Insurance: All You Need to Know about the USDA Insurance Program
Marketing Your Club
The Social in Square Dancing – What and Why
Music Licensing: What Festival Chairmen Need to Know!
One Night Stands – Square Dance Parties and Demonstration Events
Smooth Dancing
Spice Up Your Calling
Looking Ahead to the 74th NSDC in Shreveport, LA
…. And many more!

Education classes are offered throughout the day on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The preliminary Education Session schedule proposes 45-minute classes on the following days and times. There may be up to three concurrent classes for each time slot.

Education classes are a great way to build your knowledge and gain new ideas across the square dance activity (and beyond). You can also begin or complete the Leadership Certification Program by attending a designated selection of education sessions including mandatory, core, and elective offerings.

All Education panels and seminars will take place in the Baird Convention Center in Rooms S201C, D, and E. The South 201 rooms are located right at the base of the connecting skywalk and escalator from the Hilton Milwaukee Center Hotel.

Education sessions are facilitated by individual dancers, club and organization leaders, callers, cuers, and others.
